For boat owners trouble guides logbook
Know what's due. Know when to call a pro.
FixTheYacht is for boat owners. When something goes wrong aboard, a plain trouble guide tells you what to do first, what you can safely check yourself and when it is time for a certified marine technician; your problem log then prints a one-page brief for that technician. Between problems, the logbook keeps each engine's and generator's hours and tells you what maintenance is due.
Skipper: $1.95 a month or $19.50 a year. Fleet (up to 5 boats): $4.95 a month or $49.50 a year. Skipper adds the technician brief, printable history, CSV export and calendar feed. Free plan: 1 boat, 20 log entries. Free during preview.

Trouble guides with sources
Fuel or propane smell, carbon monoxide alarm, an engine that will not crank, a bilge pump that will not stop. Each guide starts with what to do first, lists only checks an owner can do safely, and cites the U.S. Coast Guard or your manual.
A brief for your technician
Log the problem from the guide, tick the checks you have done, and print one page with the boat, engine hours, symptoms, checks and recent work. The technician starts where you left off; when it is fixed, it goes into the log.
A boat log that knows what's due
Port, starboard and generator each keep their own hours. Copy each interval from your manuals and see what is overdue by date or by hours. Print the history for a surveyor or buyer, export CSV, or subscribe to due dates in your calendar.
What FixTheYacht is not
It is not a repair shop, a parts store or a directory of technicians, and nobody here diagnoses your boat. We never invent torque values, part numbers or service intervals: those come from your manufacturer. Fuel, propane, AC electrical and anything below the waterline go to a certified marine technician.
